Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas

I just wanted to show you the last of my Christmas Stitching I couldnt show before as they are all gifts for my family.  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and 2013 is going to be just the best year.

I stitched this for my Dad, I made it into a fridge magnet which is now  looking good on my parents fridge.

This I made for my Aunty Carole, she is wonderful and my mums twin sister so I make her an orny every year .

I made this little cushion for my Baby Brother and his new wife Emma, it was such a shame as they have both been very unwell over Christmas with the flu.  I do hope you get better very soon the both of you.

And lastly I made this for my fantastic Mum, which I made into a cushion. I did miss you both this year very much but hopefully it wont be long before we see each other in 2013

Have a wonderful new year everybody. xxx

Happy Thanksgiving and a few finishes.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends.  Have a wonderful time.
I have been busy opening some gorgeous exchanges I have received and I have managed to finish my book for a Stitch along I have joined for 2013, each month we stitch, sew or craft a piece of work to include in the book.  I am really looking forward to starting.
This is the book I have just finished to hold my monthly pages.  I stitched part of  Bee's  Needleworks  chart for the  center of my front cover.

I can now show you an exchange I took part in with bbinteractive
I made my partner Meagan the design above which I took from the
latest edition of Just Cross Stitch Ornament issue
I received the gorgeous Ornament below from Meagan.

I have also just finished part 8 of Around the World in 80 Stitches.
I really enjoyed this section, everything seemed to go well.

I also managed to get part 8 of Confetti of Hardanger finished, this is designed by
Bee's Needleworks.

I also received this gorgeous ornament and some very tasty  chocy Tree Ornaments  this morning in the post.
Its from Kath and is a swap I took part in through XStitch Monthly.  I showed you my orny to Kath in my last post.

Keep warm and safe everybody. xxx

Cosy Stitching

Winter is setting in here in Ireland, its lovely to sit in front of the fire stitching away listening to the wind and rain outside, (not such fun if you have to go out in it) lucky we have an open fire as the boiler blew its top last week and it will be another week before we can get it sorted.
I have taken part in a few Christmas exchanges again this year, some I cant show yet as their partners havent yet received them, so thats for next time.  I am also excited about a travelling pattern heading my way to stitch.  It was started over at Craftymoo and has just been stitched by Cucki, if you want to head over to Cucki's blog and see her gorgeous stitching.

I stitched this little ornament for a Christmas  Exchange I took part in with the Friendly Stitchers group.  The designer is 'Janet Designs for Carousel' My partner Meari sent me the cutest Ornament (pic below)  Simply gorgeous, it will look fantastic on my tree.  Thanks Meari.

I have just joined a new group X-Stitch Monthly and joined in with the Christmas Exchange.  I stitch this  Ornament from the latest issue of Just Cross Stitch Ornament edition. Thankfully Kath liked it.

I also am up to date with my two SALS 'Around the World in 80 Sts' designed by Papillon Creations and Confetti of Hardanger designed by Abi of The Stitch specialist.  I find the 80 sts a little hard at times but really enjoying them both.

I stitched this for the 10th Anniversary of Friendly Stitchers competition, I really enjoyed stitching and making this little hanger. Mine came joined third.  The other entries were stunning.

Finally I stitched this from a chart supplied by 'The Victoria Sampler' Looked great for Halloween .
Happy Stitching everybody and keep warm and safe. xx

A Win ;-) and meet Jack..

Hi Everybody, hope you are all well and not getting too cold with the onset of Autumn, I love the colours of Autumn but not the onset of the cold. Brrrr
I have to brag I was so very lucky to win Stitchersanon's 4th Anniversary blog giveaway, she stitched and handmade the Love Cushion, gorgeous isnt it and also sent a very large piece of handyed linen for me with some finishing tape, she also bought me a chart, Celtic Beauty from Papilion Creations.  I have admired this chart from afar for a long time now and cant wait to get started stitching.  Thank you so very much Gaynor, so very happy ;-)

Meet Jack, I was lucky enough to be one of 25 people to receive this chart from Oakhaven Designes  It was great fun to stitch and I got to use some cute buttons I had in my stash.  I am also going to brag that my finish has been used for the cover design on Oakhaven Yahoo Group.

Happy Stitching Everybody.. Until next time.

Finally caught up yayyyy

Hope you are all well and had plenty of crafting time.  I have been away to the UK for a holiday and to my fantastic baby brothers wedding, we had an absolutely wonderful time, the Wedding and my Brothers new Bride was stunning so was the weather which was surprising for this year.  Welcome to the family Emma..  and thank you, you two, for such a memorable day.

I also was besides myself when I found out that there was a Stitching and Quilting show on at Harrogate Show Grounds the day before the wedding and I was at a loose end that day as DH and DS went off with the wedding party, clay pigeon shooting, which DH won by the way and DS came second, their first time too.  So they dropped me off on their way, I had a fantastic time, it was like a kid being in a sweet factory, such an experience for someone that has been deprived living in Ireland where stitching supplies are practically none existent.

I have been trying to catch up on my 'Around the World in 80 Stitches' Designed by Papillion Creations I didnt get a chance to stitch the last three parts until these last week or so.  I found these three parts so much easier to stitch than the first, must have got my mojo back. Yayyy Cant wait no until part 7.

I also managed to catch up on my other SAL 'Confetti of Hardanger'  designed by Abi Gurden and is running with the stitching group 'Specialist Stitches' This is really fun to stitch, which I am attempting using just two shades of a pale pink/peachy Perle Cotton.

Add caption

This last piece is a small Coaster which was a little freebie from Abi Gurden when I signed up to her new SAL 'Confetti of Hardanger'  Cute isnt it, not that I will use it as a coaster, would hate tea to be spilt on it.  Until next time xxx

Wedding stitching.

My brother got married at the weekend, a great excuse to make him some wedding gifts.  It was a fabulous day and the weather was absolutely gorgeous, which makes a lovely change this summer. I made a few of these a little while ago but couldn't show you all until now.  I also stitched my Mum a wedding bag to go with her dress, she was very happy with it and it did look great with her outfit on the big day.
A friend of ours will be celebrating their Golden Wedding shortly so I made a sampler to surprise them with.  Mo cried so I guess she was happy with it.

I stitched my Brother and his new wife this pic, they love the Lakes in the UK so was an apt present for them both.
This is a Victoria Sampler Heirloom Wedding Sampler I chose to make for my Brother and his Wife, adapted to suit them both.  The roses I had never made before and was very pleased with how they turned out.
This is a pic of my Mums wedding bag and a little purse I made to go with it, I took the pattern from a chart I bought from Rosewood Manor, it was a really enjoyable piece to make.

Finally I made a box for my new Sister to keep all her bits and pieces from the wedding in, I also made all the invites for the wedding so she is keeping those in there too.
My Brother and his Gorgeous new wife.
My Daughter after seeing her Grandma's bag I made wanted one for herself for the wedding to match her dress, luckily there was some spare fabric to make one for her, I also made her a little purse to go with the bag.

Finally this is the Golden Wedding Sampler I made for our friends, this chart is a Sweetheart Tree chart.

I will now try and catch up with my Papillon Creations SAL 'Around the world in 80 Sts, I am getting a little behind.
Hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine.  xx

Exchanges, Sal's and new Wedding Shoes...

I have a few things I have made and stitched up to show you all. Been a fun time with crafts and stitching for me over these past couple of months.  With an awful lot of help from my daughter we have been making Wedding invites, Thank you cards, Seating cards, Favor Boxes, Menu cards and a big Table Planner for my brothers up coming wedding.  Cant show you yet but hopefully they will be pleased with everything.  Its been a fun few months.

I took part in a colour exchange with Friendly Stitchers, I stitched a cushion and a Scissor Keep for my partner Maud who's fav colour is blue.  The cushion is a Primitive Hare design and the Scissor Keep is a Cindy Valentine design.

The next round with Fair and Square was a Halloween round, Look at these fab squares I received from my partner Daniela, Arenty they fantastic. Daniela stitched an Ink Circle design she got from the Halloween issue of Just Cross Stitch.

These are the squares I stitched for Fair and Square round 30 exchange for Daniela.

I also managed to finish part 6 of Friendly Stitchers SAL designed by Mouse, although you cant see from the photo there are lots of beads in the design.  Such a shame this SAL is coming to an end.
This is Part 1 of The Stitch Specialists new SAL 'A Confetti of Hardanger'  Designed by Abi  Gurden.

My Niece got engaged last year so I stitched for them a little hanger to wish them well for their life together. The design is a Patricia Anne design.

My little brother is getting married very soon, I have some some stitching for them both but cannot show you yet but Look at my shoes, aren't they gorgeous!!  Cant wait to wear them.

Some finishes to show.

Some more photos of my finishes for you to look though, hope everybody is well and getting a little more sunshine than we are here in Ireland.

I joined in an exchange with Friendly Stitchers, I was sent the chart above to stitch which I finished into a cushion with some of the materials I won from Crazy Quilting Supplies I was really pleased with how it turned out, the group then had a poll to everybody to vote on their fav.  I won, yayyy, Life has been trying very hard to knock me down lately so this really cheered me up, my prize was some fantastic stitching goodies, see pic below.

I stitched this piece for Shelley of Fair and Square, luckily she loved it as much as I did making it for her.

I stitched this a while back but forgot to take a photo, as you do, you cant see from the photo but she is covered head to fins in beads.  Its a design called 'Mermaid of the Pearls' by Mirabilia.  It was a lovely project to stitch, needs to be framed how though.

I also managed to stitch up the next part in the Friendly Stitchers SAL 'Dawn of Spring' Designed by Mouse, I am really loving this SAL,

I also found some time to do the next section of Papillion Creations SAL 'Around the World in 80 Stitches'  I wont lie to you I am finding this a little tricky to do, but enjoying it all the same.  Trust me to go with the hardest option.

And last but not least I also stitched a little on my Mary Wigham SAL, only the two bottom motives but at least its a little further along.
Hopefully life will give me a break for a while and let me get on with my next project which is a bag by Rosewood Manor Designs for my Mum, my baby brother is getting married and I am going to try and match the colours to go with her gorgeous outfit she has for the big day.  She is so excited I am going to stitch her a bag, just hope it comes out we well as it looks in my head ;-)  Watch this space for that one.

A town I often go shopping to was completely flooded last night.  I dont know who you two guys are but get out of the water...  I hope it recedes soon and my thoughts are with you all down there in Douglas.
